Hockey: TAP West Africa begins

CFYgdzLWgAEEouJIn a bid to develop hockey in the country and also make Ghana a force to reckon with international, the Ghana Hockey Federation and England Hockey have started their innovative programme dubbed TAP West Africa at the Theodosia Okoh National Hockey Pitch in Accra

The 10-day programme was officially launched last Monday and will be taking in Accra and Kumasi over the period.

It involves youth clinics, coaching and umpire courses and High Performance training for the women’s national team.

A three-man team of resource persons from the International hockey federation, FIH, England Hockey and UK Sports are facilitating the programme.

Overall, 24 Ghanaian coaches and 16 umpires are taking part in the programme alongside 18 other trainees from 5 West African countries namely: Nigeria, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Togo and Ivory Coast
