Raissa de Haas, co-founder of Double Dutch, supports calls to reduce the UK hospitality sector's VAT to 10%
She also warned of a potential collapse.
Various challenges such as soaring energy costs, skills shortages, train strikes, and supply chain issues have put the industry at risk.
Operators in Manchester and MPs, including Alyn Smith, are advocating for a VAT reduction.
De Haas also emphasises the need for government support in reducing business rates and addressing staff recruitment challenges.
The hospitality sector, vital for the economy, has faced closures and increased pressure, with last year's spirits duty hike adding to the challenges.
De Haas calls for immediate government intervention to prevent further closures and ensure the sector's stability.
